  • Are financing options available?

    Several local lenders offer financing for land purchases and new builds – we are happy to point you in the right direction. 

  • Are there a homeowners' association or extra fees?

    There is no HOA. There are charges for water and sewer, estimated to $676.55 annually for a single-family home.


  • Is there a deposit required to purchase a lot or lots?

    Yes, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit for single family lots and a $1,000 non-refundable deposit for multi-unit lots. This must be paid to reserve the lot. 

Building and Timelines

  • Are there any building restrictions or timelines?

    Yes, all development must comply with existing By-laws and additional descriptions can be found in the Agreement of Purchase and Sale (linked here). Construction must begin within 24 months of lot purchase

  • Can I use my own builder?

    Absolutely – you are welcome to bring your own builder.

  • When will I be able to start construction?

    We anticipate Spring 2026 for construction to start.

  • Am I able to purchase multiple single-family lots to create a larger lot?

    No, the lots are generally small and priced to maximize home ownership options, particularly for first-time home buyers.

  • How are successful purchasers chosen if there are multiple parties interested in a lot?

    The lots are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Where can I find copies of agreements for purchase and sale?

    Copies are located on this site or can be picked up at the Municipal Office.

  • What is nearby in terms of amenities?

    Within minutes you will find grocery stores, schools, a Regional Health Centre, RCMP detachment, municipal fire hall, restaurants, the Big Axe Brewery, community events, and endless outdoor recreation.

  • Is the area safe and family-friendly?

Rentals

  • Will there be any rental units constructed on the site?

    There are several multi-unit lots available for development.  We anticipate that rental housing for families and seniors will be constructed on some of those lots. 

  • How can I be added to a list if I am interested in one of the rental units?

    Fill out the Expression of Interest form and we will forward your information along to developers for them to follow up. While this is not a waitlist, it will help establish the level of demand for rental housing.

Nackawic-Millville Rural Community (NMRC) is pleased to partner with Habitat for Humanity New Brunswick to bring affordable homeownership opportunities to our growing community.


Habitat for Humanity NB builds safe, energy-efficient homes for families who are ready to take the next step toward homeownership but may not qualify for traditional mortgages. Through Habitat’s unique, no-down-payment model, families purchase homes at appraised value with payments based on household income - creating a sustainable path to stability and independence.


Across New Brunswick, Habitat for Humanity is actively building homes in several communities, including projects currently underway in Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, and Miramichi. Each home represents a collaboration between professional tradespeople, volunteers, and future homeowners working side-by-side to build stronger communities.
